There are mornings where it just doesn’t make sense to prepare any kind of complex breakfast. It is hard enough to find the missing sock during a busy morning, let alone prepare a complicated breakfast. That’s where cereals come in. Put some cornflakes into a bowl, add some milk and enjoy! But how long can you do that with the same breakfast? Instead of changing the whole thing, it is better to change toppings. A few groceries already sitting in the kitchen can make a big difference.
Make The Everyday Bowl A Little Better
Milk and cereal will always be a reliable combination, but there is no rule that says the bowl has to end there. Top it with banana slices. Got some strawberries in the fridge? Throw them in the mixture as well. Some chopped apples will add a different taste and more fibre to your morning meal. A drizzle of honey is necessary on days when you feel like something sweet.
Peanut butter is another easy addition. A spoonful mixed through the bowl adds richness and makes an ordinary breakfast feel a little more exciting.
Give Yoghurt A Chance
Try layering yoghurt, cereals, and sliced fruit in a bowl or glass. Banana, berries and mango are some of the fruits that can do. Basically any fruit that you need can be incorporated.
Some chopped almonds or walnuts would make the breakfast more delicious and give it a nice crunch. There is something fascinating about the crunch after you eat a spoonful of yoghurt.
 Use Whatever Fruit Is Around
Breakfast does not need a perfect fruit combination. There’s no need to go out of your way to get one particular topping.
You could even have two types of fruit. Bananas and strawberries are a perfect combination but apples and pomegranates are equally delicious. The overall taste is sweet and a touch sour.
Turn It Into A Quick Parfait
A breakfast parfait sounds much fancier than it actually is. All that is needed is a glass and a few minutes. First put some yoghurt on and then add some fruits and cereals. If there is a need to have another layer, repeat the same procedure. And finally add some nuts or seeds on the top.
It can also be a nice way to get children involved. Let them pick their own fruit and toppings and breakfast suddenly becomes a little less of a morning battle.
Keep The Basics In The Kitchen
The easiest way to liven up breakfast is to have a few different options on hand. Milk, yoghurt, bananas, apples, nuts and seeds are all healthy things to have in the house.
It’s best not to buy lots of different breakfast groceries that you’ll end up throwing away. Pick a few favourites, buy them along with the usual groceries, and let breakfast take shape from there.
A Bowl Does Not Have To Be Boring
When looking for something new to have for breakfast, cereals can be really good; however, their taste may not be the most exciting one.You can simply enjoy them with a topping of your choice. For instance, if you want a sweet taste, you may select fruit toppings. If you want to try something creamier, yoghurt would be a good option.
